Welcome to Sabivu

Thank you for choosing Sabivu

Thank you for supporting a small UK brand. You now hold a single-ingredient mineral crystal deodorant, rehoused in bamboo. This short guide will help you get the very best from it — and explains what most people get wrong when they first start.

How to use

Your daily routine in three steps

Activate

Wet the stone under the tap, or apply it straight to damp skin after your shower. Water is what activates the mineral — this step is essential.

Apply

Glide gently over each underarm for 20–30 seconds. You are leaving a thin, invisible mineral layer — not scrubbing it in.

Let it dry

Allow the layer to dry before dressing. Once dry, your invisible shield is set and you are ready for the day.

First two weeks

What most people get wrong

  • Applying to completely dry skin
The mineral needs water to transfer. Apply to damp skin or wet the stone first — a dry stone on dry skin deposits almost nothing.
  • Expecting it to stop sweat
Sabivu is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. It helps with odour but does not block perspiration — a little sweat is normal and healthy.
  • Giving up in the first week
Many people go through a short adjustment period when switching from antiperspirants. Give it around two weeks of consistent daily use.
  • Over-applying or pressing hard
A light glide is enough. Too much product can feel tacky — less really is more with a single-mineral formula.
  • Leaving the stone wet in its case
Rinse and let the stone air-dry before closing the bamboo case. This keeps it hygienic and helps it last for many months.

The story & the science

One mineral, thousands of years in the making

The mineral inside your Sabivu is potassium alum — known more formally as potassium aluminium sulphate. It is a naturally occurring mineral salt, and people have relied on it for centuries across many cultures, long before modern personal care existed.

Historically, alum was valued as a versatile everyday mineral: it was used in water purification, in traditional textile dyeing, and as a grooming staple. That long history is exactly why it still feels so refreshingly simple today — it is a single, well-understood ingredient rather than a long list of actives, fragrances and texture agents.

How it actually works

When you apply the crystal to damp skin, it leaves behind an ultra-fine, invisible layer of the mineral. This layer helps create an environment on the skin's surface that is less hospitable to the bacteria responsible for odour. It does not mask anything with perfume, and it does not plug your sweat glands.

That last point is the key distinction. Antiperspirants use compounds such as aluminium chlorohydrate to temporarily reduce how much you sweat. Potassium alum does not do this — it is a deodorant, so you keep sweating normally while it helps manage odour. Two different compounds, two very different jobs.

Why bamboo

Crystal deodorant has existed for years, usually in plastic twist-up tubes. We rehoused the same honest mineral in a premium bamboo case — a lower-plastic format that feels considered, durable, and at home on a bathroom shelf.
